• Dooley Burton - a specialized hybrid nut tree resulting from a cross between the Burton Hican (a natural shagbark hickory and pecan hybrid from Kentucky) and either a shagbark hickory backcross or the Dooley Pecan from Oklahoma. First selected by Ken Dooley of Indiana, it stands out among hicans due to its distinct genetic ratio—leaning heavily toward its hickory parentage at roughly 75% shagbark hickory and 25% pecan. This unique genetic composition grants it excellent winter hardiness and structural resilience

• KSU Premier Hican – A Hican selected at the KSU farm and research facility by Jeremy Lowe the nut has a wide cavity, thin shell and easy to crack and the tree is vigorous and precocious. Needs a Pecan to pollinate the trees, it is a Shagbark Hybrid.
  
  
• McAlister -Cross between Shellbark hickory and Mahan Pecan. Large nut maturing early. Falls from the tree here in Zone 6 in October.
